Project Title: Shamba Darasa
Integrating Health Improvement and Economic Empowerment
Objective: The primary goal of the project is to enhance the quality and productivity of farming practices among participating farmers through the implementation of Shamba Darasa (Farm School). This initiative aims to not only boost agricultural output but also promote health improvement and economic empowerment within the community.
Project Components:
1. Shamba Darasa Training:
Farmers
will receive comprehensive training through Shamba Darasa, focusing on
modern and sustainable agricultural practices.Topics covered include
crop management, soil health, pest control, water conservation, and the
use of advanced farming technologies.
2. Access to Resources:
CHADF
will facilitate access to quality seeds, fertilizers, and other
agricultural inputs to ensure farmers have the necessary resources for
implementing the learned practices.
3. Financial Literacy and Savings:
The
project will incorporate financial literacy sessions, educating farmers
on effective budgeting, savings, and investment strategies.Farmers will
be encouraged to save a portion of their earnings from agricultural
activities.
4. Health Insurance Contribution:
A
significant aspect of the project involves farmers saving a portion of
their income for personal health insurance contributions.CHADF will
collaborate with health insurance providers to develop affordable and
tailored insurance packages for farmers and their families.
5. Community Health Workshops:
Alongside
agricultural training, CHADF will conduct workshops on health and
hygiene practices within the community.Topics will include disease
prevention, nutrition, and the importance of regular health check-ups.
6. Monitoring and Evaluation:
Regular
assessments will be conducted to measure the impact of the project on
both agricultural productivity and the well-being of participating
farmers. Feedback sessions will be organized to gather insights from
farmers for continuous improvement.
