Objectives
1. Increase Awareness and Education:
Raise awareness about breast cancer, emphasizing the importance of early detection and regular screenings. Provide educational sessions to enhance the community's understanding of breast health and the significance of early intervention.
2. Ensure Accessible and Regular Screening Services:
Establish accessible and regular breast cancer screening services in the targeted areas of Mwanza, specifically Mwashilalage, Ishingiga, and Nyamikoma villages. Remove barriers to screening by ensuring affordability, proximity, and cultural sensitivity.
3. Provide Support for Diagnosed Individuals:
Create a support system for individuals diagnosed with breast cancer, offering emotional support, information, and guidance throughout their journey. Facilitate access to treatment options and connect diagnosed individuals with relevant healthcare services.
Activities
1. Community Awareness Campaigns
Conducted community-wide awareness campaigns using various channels such as workshops, seminars, and informational materials to disseminate knowledge about breast cancer.
2. Mobile Screening Clinics
Organized mobile breast cancer screening clinics in Mwashilalage, Ishingiga, and Nyamikoma villages on the specified dates (5/12/19 July 2023 and 6 October 2023). Ensure the availability of qualified healthcare professionals and necessary equipment for conducting screenings.
3. Educational Workshops
Host educational workshops focused on breast health, self-examination techniques, and the importance of early detection. Engage community leaders, influencers, and healthcare professionals to lead these workshops.
4. Distribution of Informational Materials
Develop and distribute informational materials, including pamphlets and brochures, to reinforce key messages about breast health and the benefits of early detection.
5. Counseling and Support Groups:
Establish counseling services and support groups for individuals diagnosed with breast cancer, creating a safe space for sharing experiences and receiving emotional support.
Outcomes

Measure the level of increased awareness and knowledge within the community through pre- and post-campaign surveys.
2. Accessible and Regular Screening Services:
Track the number of individuals who utilize the mobile screening clinics, ensuring accessibility and regularity of services.
